Dermal Fillers FAQ

Juvéderm fillers are a clear gel made of a modified form of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the skin that promotes hydration while enhancing the skin’s elasticity and volume. We will gently inject dermal fillers into your target areas, immediately replenishing lost volume and smoothing lines and wrinkles for a younger-looking, revitalized appearance.

As with any injection, you will feel a slight prick at the injection site. Dermal fillers include lidocaine, a numbing agent, to help ensure your comfort. If you are concerned about pain, we can also use a topical numbing cream. Applying ice (covered with a towel) to your treatment areas both before and after your session will help prevent further discomfort while reducing and relieving any potential swelling.

Dermal filler appointments last between 15 and 60 minutes, depending on the areas of the face being treated.

There is minimal downtime with dermal fillers. However, with any injection, there is a risk of swelling, pinpoint bleeding, and bruising.

You will notice immediate results following your Juvéderm session. However, it can take up to a week to fully see your results. It can take up to a week for your dermal filler to fully settle into your contours and for swelling to fully subside.

Each one of Allergan’s dermal fillers provides long-lasting benefits as follows:
Juvéderm – 12 months
Voluma – 24 months
Vollure – 18 months
Volbella – 12 months
