You may feel a change in temperature to your skin as the active peel is penetrating the skin. You may also experience a tingling sensation and tightness. For medium or deep chemical peels, we will take every precaution, including the application of a numbing cream, to ensure your comfort.
Downtime following a chemical peel depends on the depth of the peel. The deeper the peel, the longer the recovery time, from a few days to a week.
Depending on the intensity of your peel, you may experience redness or a sunburn sensation. Mild peels often reveal a flush-faced vibrancy with no downtime, whereas more intense peels may result in a few days to a week of redness, flaking and peeling.
